Current Guinness World Record
Longest Line of Sight

Distance | 443 Kilometers |

Portraying the silhouette of the Barre des Ecrins from the most distant possible summit of the Pyrenees and get a new World Distance Record has been for us the last most recent target.
The result is counted in the image: a view from Pic de Finestrelles (2.820 m.) to the Alps.
Want to try yourself? Don’t forget to check our recommended cameras!
Since we managed to do for the first time a picture of the Alps from the Pyrenees, we try to want to do portraits to other peaks, something more remote.
View the Ecrins in the broad daylight in mid-February thanks to exceptional weather conditions, with help also of a polarizing filter was a huge satisfaction after previous attempts, sometimes collectively as well as individually. I had already portrayed in January of 2015 the Ecrins mountains alsom but with a very faint result.
Last July, from a more distant peak than on previous occasions (in April I get it also from other summit before sunrise) and good weather forecast, it made a great success of visibility. The Barre des Ecrins relatively clearly manifested backlight of a sun in close position below the horizon.
To his left, other peaks of the Alps we also seen. Refractive favorable circumstances allowed to view some other peaks, even that more distant than the Barre des Ecrins. Pic Gaspard, 443 Km, is what has given us this time the brand new World Record of distant photograph of landscapes in our planet.

AFTER:
We are sure that other records will come soon. From the Pyrenees the options are almost finished but any attempt to increase the distance is still possible if atmospheric conditions are especially favorable refractive exceptional transparency. We’re on that. By the other hand, also, maybe next arises from another continent, from another mountain range of our planet. We think it’s really probably.
We will inform you.
I just want to add a comment.: Congratulations to those fathers that have paid colleges to send all those who believe that the Earth is FLAT.
Poor parents. You blow your money away!

I totally believe the Earth is flat and” science” lied to invent a world without Creator. Your soul is priceless, Jesus only can bring it to everlasting life, don’t you see He is the light of the world?
Thanks for these wonderful picture.

All of your refraction arguments have been thoroughly debunked by a PhD, many scientists, and so many other laser and mirror experiments. Refraction does not work the way some of you claim — it works the opposite way. You have done zero research into the atmospheric conditions present when the photo was taken to account for alleged “refraction.” J Tolan Media 1, an engineer, has actually taken much longer distance photos than this. He has documentation of all of the elevation and distance angles. He has taken photos of the Rockies and Lake Huron from 1,000 miles away, impossible on a globe, with infrared high res zoom cameras. You need to actually do some research and math. You do not understand how mirages or light works. This photo is consistent with a flat plane.

A terra é plana, não tem como argumentar ao contrario. Quem o faz, é mentalmente doutrinado até a alma.

It,s hard to believe you can see a boat go over some curved surface, what i just dont get is at all of my own beachvisits( netherlands) i van see england, and that same boat for 8!!!!! Hours untill it reaches harwich, it,s seen from hoek van holland nl, to harwich all the way…….that same boat ” dived” over a curve 17 times . Yes every 35 minutes i just dragged it back into visual when going over the curve…..so what do i miss here? . I am a square earther so both of you all …..s…t up!! Lol.

Refraction bends light downward. The earth is observably and obviously flat.
Jtolans work is excellent.

Pingback: The aspect of light reflection in the long-distance observations – MkrGeo
Amazing shot! Cordial congratulations to the Author!
This situation was favorable due to the high contrast between the sky, mountains, and the Gulf of Lion light reflection.
Both the distant horizon and the water body were much brighter than the mountain horizon line in the middle. It was before sunrise when the atmosphere at solar azimuth is significantly illuminated by the rising Sun (the level of illumination depends on how deep the Sun is below the horizon). Next, this scattered sunlight in the atmosphere was perfectly reflected in the water body at an angle of incidence. The vast majority of this light was reflected due to the very low angle between the distant horizon and the water. Mountains being in the middle of this vista were shaded. They could be also visible without water bodies at the line of sight, but since the scattered light was reflected at the Gulf of Lion, their contrast was enhanced. Read more details below:
http://www.mkrgeo-blog.com/the-aspect-of-light-reflection-in-the-long-distance-observations/
I hope this observation will be somewhat key for future approaches such as this. Best regards!
