252 KM | Canigó, Pyrenees – Marseille

Small portion of a very wide panorama with more details and quality. The image was not observed with the naked eye or with a normal telephoto lens because the atmospheric transparency was not good enough, but it appeared thanks to infrared radiation and the photoshop process. Almost sure it’s the first image of the basilica obtained from the summit of the Canigó.

For a couple of centuries many observers and photographers have observed the silhouette of the Canigó from Marseille on certain occasions, but never an image in the opposite direction had been obtained, showing Marseille.

Antoine always impresses us with beautiful high quality pictures from the area around Corsica and this time is no exception.

Moreover, this is the first time that we publish an image taken during night time, yet another proof of the incredible visibility and clear air that we had during the last August 12th

We can see below that the same mountains were phtographed during the sunset, at night and during sunrise of the following day (in IR)
