The distant ladscapes, now present in the Guinness book website.

We’re pleased to realize that finally the Guiness World Records Organization has incorporated among its themes the references about distant lansdcapes. and in concret the longest line of sight on earth photographed (earth to earth), which was not on its menus until now and we see that it has echoed the current one, already for more than 5 years, portrayed from the Finestrelles peak (Eastern Pyrenees) to the Alps.

Obviously we’ve already related about it from a long time, as well as the previous records ones that we previously achieved and therefore it’s not a news for us, but anyway we appreciate the official visibility in the Guiness Book (or the website) of international reference for all kinds of deeds or dreams where the best known to the strangest things or little thought by most mortals concur.

Now we wonder: When and where will we get a new record? All of us and you (readers, friends of the website) can try it. Dreams are beautiful and, in relation it, also, many other adventures are possible in different parts of the world and dreams of new contemplations very far away can come true.

Let’s keep care the planet, our clean atmosphere. And we will see it!!.

The Canary Islands are a place with great potential for Distant Sights, mainly for the great height and the distance between the islands. Usually, the pictures we have received involve the Teide Peak (3.718 m) – this highest in Spain – but in this case the view is from Gran Canaria onto Lanzarote, the first of its kind!

Thank you Charles for sharing it with us.

Yet again, a new picture from the Canary Island!

Such a wonderful place for tourism: trekking, oceans, volcanoes, surf and, of course, distant sights! What a fantastic way to end the day: looking at the highest summit in the Archipielago, Teide, at more than 200 km. away.

Thanks to Nelson for sharing this masterpiece with us!

20 minutes away from Barcelona, there are a solitary mountains ; Parc de Garraf, where you can enjoy legendary sunsets.

In the photo, the mountain of Montsia seems an island, and in the left Serra d’Irta a loneliness and small island. But they are a range of mountains in the Mediterranean coast, between Barcelona and València.

The most distant mountain is Massís de Penyagolosa, 223 Km. away.

Addition note of M.Bret:

You can see also same panoramas in this other report that I photographied in 2012 . It’s in catalan sorry but it’s possible to read by google traductor. There’re details about Serra d’Irta also and other coastal ranges. Summit of Penyagolosa from that part of Garraf is not visible, only one part of a side of the mountain. The most big apparent mountain is Montsià and many people often confuse that silhouette of with Mallorca, an island which is usually very well appreciated from there on many other occasions. I often portray these silhouettes (Balearic Islands to the east, Penyagolosa to the south and the Pyrenees to the west and north) from these hills so close to Barcelona, especially in winter. The Denali (or Mc.Kinley in english) peak seen with an extraordinary effect of multiple mirages (#fatamorgana) as it appeared majestically before the eyes of photographer Chuck Berray on a placid winter morning majestically behind the plain near the Anchorange region. Below, another image, by the same author, taken a couple of days earlier without the effect of the phenomenon.   Thank you Chuck Berray for sharing it with us.
