Air Particles

Cloud shadows in a dry winter afternoon.  Air particles render visible the cloud shadows as faint reductions in the sky brightness.

Dust, aerosols, CO2, NO2 and other particles reduce long distance visibility.  Human activity and natural phenomena (dust storms, volcanic eruptions,…) are both responsible of the presence of particles in the atmosphere.
